The tenth annual edition of the Transylvania International Film Festival (TIFF) will be held this year between June 3 and 12, in Cluj-Napoca, northwestern Romania, according to the festival’s official website. The National Military Circle downtown Bucharest will host the opening concert of the second edition of the Old Music Season, on Friday, February 4. The concert will begin at 19,00 hours in the Byzantine Room with a performance of harpsichord player Erich Turk.
Zucchero, the best-selling artist of Italy will play in Romania for the fourth time. He will perform at Arenele Romane on June 21 at 20,00 hours. The concert is part of a tour called Chocabeck World Tour 2011. Chocabeck is the name of his new album released in 2010 and contains 11 tracks written by the artist himself. Some of them have also benefited from the contribution of Bono, U2’s leading singer.
The Busteni mountain resort will host a stage of the UIAA Ice Climbing World Cup and Championship between February 4-6. The Romanian Alpine Club organizes the event together with the Busteni Town Hall, the International Mountaineering and Climbing Federation and the Romanian Federation of Climbing and Mountaineering.
